Completion of Contents Page: Part 1

I opened my final image onto 'Indesign' and began the completion of my contents page.
I based my own contents page quite closely on one that I looked at in my research. I included the word "features" as subtitle, copying the format, and the caligraphic text is a very similar font. I also based my magazines contents list format on my research; the page numbers (in a bold font, standing out)at the beginning, then the features title in capitals, a different colour to the feature explanation making it stand out as well. The feature explanation is in an ordinary, lowercase text, and each feature is divided by a dotted line, as shown in my research.

Photo Editing Process: Part 2

When I deleted the monkey face, there was a solid image left behind which I had to remove/cover up. I used the cloning tool to clone the background and cover the image I didn’t want.
Here is my final, edited image.

Photo Editing Process: Part 1

To come up with the final image I planned to use on my contents page, I used a programme called ‘Picmonkey’:

I opened my chosen photograph onto the programme, touched up the brightness and tweeked the models face. I then added a premium effect I liked which meant I’d have to find a way to remove the monkey face from the bottom left hand corner of my image.

I opened the edited image onto photoshop and seleted the whole monkey face. I then deleted it.

Chosen Photograph for Contents Page

Here is the photograph I have decided to use on my contents page. As I said previously, I was looking to use a face shot, rather than a full length image, on my contents page as the model on my front cover is posing in a full length image.
I particularly liked this image as the detail of her face/ facial structure is very distinct and strong. Though she is not making eye contact with the camera, the expression in her face conveys the calm intensity I was hoping to portray for my contents page image (this kind of look is seen and supported in my research).

Contents Page Photoshoot: Part 1

Here is the collection of most of the images I took for my contents page. As you can see, they are generally face orientated.

Contents Page Research: Part 2

Here I have done a little more specific research- as my model is female and so far my research has been male centred, due to the fact that male models seemed to dominate the contents pages of my magazine type.

I thought it could be interesting to focus more on the face (as shown in one of the earlier contents pages I analysed), as my image on the front page is a full length image. Therefore I have produced this mood board to base my images around.

My aim, when taking these full face shots, would be for the eye makeup to be very bold, as the eyes play an important part in a full face shot; plus, strong eye contact with camera on top of extravagant eye makeup will help connect the reader to the magazine.
Though I will also take different camera shots i.e. midshots, full lengths etc. so I have a wider range of image types to pick from.

Contents Page Research: Part 1

Here I analysed some music magazine contents pages, to help me decide what kind of style and layout I should render in my own contents page:
